Be an ELH Tutor
Being an English Language Homestays Tutor is a fun, rewarding and busy experience for all of our tutors regardless of your age or experience.
If you are an experienced English language homestay tutor or about to qualify as one, and would like to join our team we would love to hear from you.
What’s involved in being a Homestay Tutor?
You should hold a recognised EFL or Teaching certificate. We are flexible on the type of EFL Certificate but it should be along the lines of a Celta; TESOL or similar. If you are coming from the State School System then a B.Ed and recognised teaching certificate will be required.
If you hold a Diploma or have specialised knowledge in fields such as Medicine; Commerce; Law or Aviation then please let us know.
Additionally, to be a Homestay Tutor you need to have a spare guest room that has 1 or 2 beds in it and be keen to let our guest students come and stay.
Our Homestay Tutors provide Full Board accommodation or to put it another way, provide all their meals. If you have an en suite bathroom, please let us know as this is often asked for and an additional payment can sometimes be made for this.
Students can select the number of hours of study they would like with the tutor but this is typically up to 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, but you can choose from 10 hours a week up to 30 hours
We like the students to be actively involved in the Hosts family/home as this provides a more enriching experience for the student and you. As the students are learning English it also gives them a chance to practice their skills in a friendly environment.
How do I receive payment?
